Poe was born in Quebec. She started to paint and draw at 15 years old. Now, after twenty five years of practice, college and university learning in fine arts. She invites you to look at her work and offers the possibility to buy originals or reproductions in the form of giclees on canvas or paper. Also she can paint a landscape of your choice if you supply a photo.
It pleases to me to present you all my original painting creations spreaded over twelve years. Sometimes I go in nature "to draw" or I install some elements in my workshop, or, it sometimes happens that I receive inspirations; colors or sometimes the clarity-obscure ones settle in my head and I let myself be guided by them. My images are rather bucolic, peaceful. I master rather well the drawing and composition. The color is my MUSE and my force and I study the light. In my more recent paintings, my need for space carries me towards the landscapes because the eye can travel in panorama but also in depth. My next project is to paint directly on the walls, a frescos, where would unite lights, fog, magic, the animals and humans in a natural context with a lot of depth. I like the idea to increase the space of a room by cheating the eye.
A centrally placed weeping willow stands guard over a marshy-green lake at sunrise. Impressionistic in style, this oil-based canvas depicts a landscape clad mostly in green and gold tones. In the foreground, orange flowers dot the left side of the grassy knoll, as sun-kissed water laps the shoreline. Bushes and smaller trees crowd the right bank, with the morning sun gently bronzing their leaves. Far away in the distance, orangey mist rises from the water, evaporating along with the morning's early silence. Across the water, a lone, majestic weeping willow is mirrored in the water, supported by wildly growing trees on either side. An early morning gathering of sounds, colors and nature, this painting quietly dances with the dawn.
Landscape of the Earth's birthday. An orange tinted landscape. Soft impressionism is the style of this oil-based, warm canvas painting that shines with emotion. Taller russet and greet trees stand along the left side of the painting, watching over rolling hills full of golden underbrush and a meandering stream. Red underbrush lines the ground, which folds into brightly colored daisies that smack of new growth and burgeoning beauty. Sandy shores along the right side of the creek lead to wide spans of open space and trees that define the lines in the landscape. This womb-like painting shows the ebb and flow of the earth through a crimson lens.
A small boat sits on the other side of a river at the bottom of a cliff. Full brush strokes emblazon this oil-based canvas in an impressionist style. Yellow-tinged water laps gently at the shore across the way, where a solitary boat sits, without oars or a traveler inside, inviting the next person walking by to jump in. Lavender and goldenrods sway in the breeze, gently guiding passers-by to the shoreline. Dark and foreboding in the background, a cliff looms above the scene in contrast. Small bugs glide along the water towards the front of the painting, and wild grasses and flowers dotting the landscape. The scene is peaceful, tranquil and lazy, with the boat patiently waiting for its next passenger while the cliff stands watch overhead.
A young lady plays the harp with her back resting on a tree. In front of her, a small bridge stretches across a gurgling river, and a fruit plate sits at her feet. A cow sits on the grass towards the front right of the painting, while another cow floats above the scene, nestled in the clouds. This acrylic-based, dreamy canvas was painted with an impressionist touch. A young-hearted scene, meant entirely for wee ones dreaming the day away. Naive art style to make the young at heart dream a little.
A thicket of flowers grow wildly in front of a tall birdhouse. This larger oil-based canvas painting was lovingly created with flowing brush strokes reminiscent of the impressionists of earlier years. A path leads up to an umber barn in the middle rear of the painting. A large oak trees peeks out from the top right hand side of the barn, while a fence in front tries to hold back the masses of bushes and flowers growing in the space. A multitude of flowers fight for the orange glow from the sun. Dark nooks and crannies in the bushes and flowers surrounding the pigeon house contrast brightly with the pigeon house itself, creating a juxtaposition of color that resembles an afternoon summer glow.
A young girl picks flowers while several nearby geese watch at the outskirts of a forest. This small, oil-based painting on canvas was artfully created in a pastoral style. On the left side of the foreground, a shock of wild flowers seem to dance under a light wind. On the right, three geese are obviously curious and interested to get a closer look. Further along the path, a young woman with a basket gathers her flowery treasures. In the background, some darker, thick trees border the seemingly endless path. This gorgeous painting shows a peacefully animated scene where nature, animals and humans all seem to be gather with a common goal under a the veil of a green and orange glow.

A clear blue lake is surrounded by marsh, trees and far away mountainous passes. A primary-colored oil-based painting, this piece is bright and lively. Heathy, bushy trees stand on lush siding that dots both sides of the water-front. Mist settles farther away, behind the trees, melting into the clouds above. Shadows of mountains loom above the countryside. This crisp canvas is a perfect, feel good memory of a gorgeous summer day.

A pretty flowered path zigzags towards a far away valley. This tall, impressionist style, oil-based canvas is brightly washed with color from the multi-colored flowers and the orange glow of the sunrise. On each side of the worn path larger trees reflect the light of dawn. Born out of a need of color near the end of February, this painting seems like a childhood memory of flower-picking along a dirt path at the dawn of the day.
Decorative and native art. This gorgeous russet, green and gold colored oil-based painting is painted in a traditional manner, with strong strokes and bold images. The horse prances on three legs, looking right at the painter with a glint in his eye. His tail swishes in the wind as he moves around in front of what seems to be a drinking spot. Dark green grasses cover the landscape, with yellow flowers and apple trees dotting the area. Red clay on the ground deeply contrasts the umber-colored sky. This painting captures a moment in time - a horse mid-prance wearing cerimonial covers who awaits the day before him.
Decorative art - A floral arrangement where symmetry is an important factor, but isn't strictly enforced. A faded yellow flower is the centerpiece of this gouache canvas, with light green ferns extending horizontally outwards along each corner. Lilac bells are carefully positioned along the sides and top of the flower, with artful green leaves finishing off the piece. A baby elephant walks along with his mother on flowered grass in a fairy landscape. This painting displays gorgeous native art within a blue, yellow and pink mandala. The grass is finely detailed, with each individual blade seeming to dance with the wind. Flowers fot the foreground, while large oak trees and ferns fill out the background. The little elephants is smiling, trying to keep up with mom. This child-like painting would be a wonderful addition to any little one's space, encouraging them to dream and grow, just like the baby is trying to do.

The paintings of Poe are at the same time figurative, poetic and colourful. Her most frequent subjects are landscapes, animals, flowers and characters. By looking at her paintings, one understands that she wants to tame the beauty and the mystery of nature.
The landscapes are full with space and light. The animals: cows, elephants, stags and horses are serene and free. They appear sometimes in mandalas where they take a sacred aspect. The flowers are often present. They are more spots of colors than precise botanical studies.
The characters are usually discrete though in action; they are seen sprinkling, gathering, taming an animal or playing of a musical instrument. In all those creation of images, one notes a need to explore. The mediums, the pallets of color as well as the formats used are very varied. Her creativity also comes from several sources: the observation or the memory of certain scenes guides the blows of brushes and sometimes, the dreams and inspirations impose themselves and take form on the canvas.
